Welcome to Next Steps Children’s Ministries!

April Trego
We are excited to welcome you and your child to the Next Steps Children’s Ministry! Our Children’s Director, April Trego, and her team of volunteers have a big heart for teaching children about God’s love through fun, creative, and interactive lessons that reveal the Bible to children in ways they can relate and understand.

Sunday Morning Activities

9:00am – During our first hour, children attend a Sunday school class based on their age group.

10:45am – During our second hour, children in 1st thru 6th grade gather together in Kidstown, then join the congregation for worship in the sanctuary. After the worship time, they meet back in kidstown for a service that meets them on their level, led by April Trego. They are also taught a biblical message that will help them to understand a variety of topics including God, Jesus, Salvation, Faith, etc.

Wednesday Evening Activites

AWANA – This is a program committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve Him. AWANA is for children that are 2 years old through students in 6th grade. This program is offered during the school year each Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Click here to learn more about AWANA.

Wacky Wednesdays – Our Summertime Wednesday evenings program that encourages kids to get silly with a different theme each week! Each theme relates to a specific biblical message taught that evening.

Intergenerational Services

Each 5th Sunday throughout the year, our church holds an Intergenerational Service. During this time, children attend our second service at 10:45am in the sanctuary, and stay throughout the duration of service rather than going their normal Kidstown service. We encourage children to sit with their family and enjoy service together!

In an effort to provide the best possible care and protection for your children, we are mandating that all parents utilize our Children’s Check-In System. For their safety, children will not be allowed to be left with volunteers without being checked in and properly checked out. This policy has been reviewed and unanimously approved by our church board. If you wish to keep your children with you in service, no check-in is necessary. Thank you very much for your cooperation in helping to keep our church a safe environment for our children.

Trusted, background-checked staff members and volunteers are trained to assist you when registering your child for the first time, or when you are experiencing issues with check-in. When a parent or guardian checks in a child, you will receive a security label which is needed for child pickup when you’re ready to go. This label does not include any identifiable information except the child’s name and any allergies/medical notes they may have. After first-time registration, you’ll be able to check your child in easily with a keycard that contains a unique barcode for your child. Our servers are owned and operated by our church and information is never shared with third parties.
